Counselling involves talking confidentially to a trained professional counsellor about your difficulties, past or present, in a safe, non-judgemental, private and supportive environment.
It can help you to learn more about yourself and your situation, so that you are able to see things more clearly and find a way of meeting or addressing your individual needs.
It can feel unusual at first focusing on your thoughts, behaviours and emotions and having someone else be alongside of you whilst you do this, but very soon this becomes more natural and helps you to gain a deeper understanding of your own mind, behaviours and emotions.
